On 27 May 2026, the Department of Economics of the Kyiv Regional State Administration organized an online Info Day dedicated to the RIVCircular project and its cascade funding opportunities for circular economy innovation projects. The event brought together 28 participants representing a wide range of organizations from across Kyiv Region.
The session aimed to strengthen regional participation in European innovation initiatives by providing practical guidance on the RIVCircular open calls, consortium building, eligibility requirements, funding conditions, and application procedures. Participants also received information on how to use the RIVCircular Matchmaking Platform, obtain a PIC number through the EU Funding & Tenders Portal, and prepare competitive project proposals.
RIVCircular, a Horizon Europe-funded project, supports the development of interconnected innovation ecosystems focused on circular economy solutions and interregional cooperation. The programme seeks to enhance stakeholder engagement, build regional capacities, and accelerate the transition towards more sustainable and resource-efficient economic models.
During the event, participants were introduced to the RIVCircular funding opportunities aimed at supporting innovative circular economy projects through interregional cooperation. The session provided an overview of the programme’s thematic priorities, available funding, eligibility conditions, consortium requirements, and key aspects of project development and implementation.
Special attention was given to the eligibility conditions for organizations from Kyiv Region, including SMEs, large enterprises, universities, research institutions, technology centres, and civil society organizations. Participants were informed about the importance of international partnerships and the requirement to build interregional consortia involving organizations from different participating territories.
The event also provided practical guidance on evaluation criteria, project implementation requirements, and key milestones of the RIVCircular call process. Participants were encouraged to actively engage in the project’s matchmaking platform to identify potential partners and develop competitive project ideas before the application deadline of 17 September 2026.
The Info Day brought together a diverse group of stakeholders from across Kyiv Region, including representatives of businesses, civil society organizations, research institutions, and public authorities, highlighting the inclusive nature of the event and the growing interest in circular economy innovation.
By bringing together stakeholders from different sectors, the event contributed to raising awareness of European funding opportunities and strengthening Kyiv Region ’s capacity to participate in international research and innovation projects that support the green and digital transition.
