On 12 June 2026, the RIVCircular successfully organised an online Consortium Building Event, bringing together more than 200 registered participants from across the project’s regions. The event aimed to support the development of innovative project ideas and foster new partnerships ahead of the RIVCircular Open Call.

Structured around the five thematic areas of the call, the event provided a valuable opportunity for companies, research organisations, clusters and other stakeholders to present their ideas, share expertise and good practices, and explore potential collaborations. Through a series of pitch sessions and networking discussions, participants were able to gain a better understanding of the strengths, capabilities and innovation potential available across the RIVCircular regions.

A total of 25 project pitches were presented during the event, covering topics ranging from construction and demolition waste circularity, energy integration and battery recycling to circular solutions for the textile sector and digital tools for the circular economy. The high level of participation and engagement throughout the day highlighted the strong interest of regional stakeholders in developing interregional cooperation projects and advancing circular economy solutions.

As a next step, the RIVCircular consortium will continue supporting participants in the further development of their project ideas and in identifying suitable partners to build competitive consortia. The presentations shared during the event will also serve as a valuable resource for stakeholders seeking collaboration opportunities within the RIVCircular ecosystem.

The Consortium Building Event represents an important milestone in strengthening cooperation between regions and accelerating the development of innovative circular economy projects across Europe.
